Bad Touching
September 20th, 2005
I’m ashamed to say that I was interested in the Michael Jackson trial. Michael Jackson wrote Smooth Criminal and Billy Jean, which I think should be the equivalent of a get out of jail free card in monopoly, but other than that, apparently he mostly just feels up kids.
The first public case of this was in 1993. He was accused of sexual assault by Jordan Chandler and eventually settled out of court for a figure believed to be around $25 Million. Ten years later, in 2003 for those who have trouble adding 10, he was again accused of molesting a young boy, this time Gavin Arvizo.
Now if the abuse actually took place, I have sympathy for Jordan Chandler. Jackson didn’t have a history of sexual abuse in 1993, so neither he nor his parents had any reason to be concerned. OK, a grown man was constantly asking a boy in his early teens to sleep over, but what’s weird about that?
But if Gavin Arvizo got touched up, he wasn’t abused, he was prostituted. Everybody on the planet knew Jackson’s history, and if you then choose to let your teenage boy spend the night at his house whilst accepting money from him, you are pimping your kid, and that’s all there is too it.
I’m not a parent, but if I was I’m fairly sure I’d follow a few simple rules, such as…..
a) Don’t let them play in the road
b) Don’t let them drink anything that says “corrosive”
c) Don’t let them play with the known paedophile
It’s not difficult, there was a scary child molester that lived down my road when I was a kid, my mum made damn sure I was never near him. It’s called parenting. If that guy had started inviting all the local kids round to his house to stay every night, I just dont picture the following scenario ever coming up…..

I’m not condoning anything Jackson may have done, I’m simply saying that after the first accusation, no responsible parent would let their child go to that house. It doesn’t even matter if you think he was guilty or not, even if you believed he was innocent, would you bet your kids virginity on it?
